Our Story
Mama’s Mobile Mercantile started with a simple idea: bringing creativity, community, and fiber arts back into everyday life.
With Kelly’s passion for preserving traditional fiber arts and Mary’s deep love for community and creativity, the dream of bringing back the neighborhood yarn shop — on wheels — slowly came to life.
Now housed inside a vintage bus, Mama’s Mobile Mercantile travels throughout the Kentuckiana area as a mobile yarn shop carrying carefully chosen yarns, handmade goods, fiber art supplies, crochet and knitting tools, and inspiration for makers of all skill levels.
But more than anything, the bus was created to bring people together.
Wherever Mama’s Mobile Mercantile parks, it creates a little space for creativity, conversation, learning, and community — keeping the spirit of the local yarn shop alive while bringing yarn, fiber arts, and creative workshops directly to the communities it serves.
